I’m having a quintuple heart bypass tomorrow

I had a small heart attack last Monday that is something of a blessing as it highlighted major problems! My coronary arteries have had it (up to 95% narrowed in 9 places). Hospital kept me in for an angiogram.

Angiogram highlighted the problems so I’ve been in hospital since. My surgeon came to see me today and said rather than a triple, he is likely to go with a 4 or 5 new arteries.

He said because my heart is so strong I’ll be fine under the knife. It will be a 4-6 hour affair with full chest opening. He is taking replacement arteries/veins from my chest/left arm and if need be, inside thigh.

Im not scared but for those of you of faith, I would appreciate your prayers. Victor…IMG_1470.jpeg

We're with you here, too. And you'll feel so much better just in time for yard work! WooHoo!

My brother had a 6-way bypass - the most his doctor had ever done - at 81, and says he feels better now than he has in years. Looks better, too...for an ugly old f***er.

You are so very fortunate they caught it in time. Good luck! Heal fast!
