I will be the first to admit that this is only mildly interesting, but I thought there should be something about it on the world's premier (only?) Hamer chat room.
I stayed at the Hard Rock hotel in Chicago over the weekend. They name all the conference rooms after guitars. They have two big rooms called Gibson and Fender that (I believe) can be broken up into smaller rooms (e.g., Les Paul, Flying V, Firebird, SG; note that they use a photo of a LP Classic to illustrate that git). There is also a Hamer room. It was locked while I was there so I have no idea if they have an actual Hamer guitar inside. But outside, they have a giant mural photo of a B12L.
It was an interesting to see how they rated the value of various items. A necklace worn by Annie Lennox in a video merited a glass case to protect. Same with an Epiphone SG signed by the members of AC/DC. But the Iceman base actually used by White Zombie bassist Sean Yseult was just affixed to the wall in the conference center, within easy reach of the ground (you literally could reach up and play the thing, albeit in an uncomfortable position). A bit like Nina Van Horn's swimsuit being put away near the bathrooms in the model-themed restaurant.
