For some reason the maple tops all look better to me with cream plastic and amber knobs. The koas are best with black. The hardware is a different story. All of the koas I've seen have had nickel hardware. I have two maple tops that came with Sperzels, and they had nickel hardware too. But most maple tops have nickel saddles, chrome baseplates, and chrome Schallers. I put nickel plates and tuners on them; I've got a nickel plate on this one but have no tuners. I'm trying to source them from Europe; I've done so in the past but it sounds like Schaller is having troubles.It's a nice guitar, midweight for a Mirage, neck is neither the biggest I own, nor the smallest.
