revitup
Bolt onIt is a 1997 purchased new a few months ago.I put TI Jazz Flat strings on it, my music store reset the action which I think is to high. According to the phamplet I got with the bass it states the action is set low at factory but I can't seem to find correct settings. I am looking for the old school sound, so to speak.I don't know much about setting action and such.
tobereeno
I generally set the G string to 4/64" at the 12th fret (measured fron the top of the fret to the bottom of the string), when I want a fast jazzy action. I'll bump it up to 5/64" when I want a more rock sound. The E string will be about 5/64" when the G is at 4/64", and 6/64" when the G is at 5/64". I usually keep my B string very high, not at all in keeping with the other strings, pretty much always at 7/64".
