mbratch
I'd like to know what your favorite pickups are in a Hamer 25th Anniversary artist.I found the stock pickups to be fine, but not outstanding, so wanted to experiment. I just bought a pair of Vintage Vibe HS90SW pickups (humbucker size P90s) and tried both the AlNiCo and Ceramic magnet sets it came with. Even with the AlNiCo I find the pickups to be somewhat bright and sterile sounding in my BF Fender amps.So I've been looking around further. Considering some Seth Lovers... Thundernotes
I had an Artist (Vanguard) with Fralin un-buckers in it. That guitar absolutely screamed.
Guest Meshuggah
For rock and roll - Dimarzio VPAFs (put a VPAF Hot in the bridge heh heh)For less agressive stuff - Fralin Unbuckers (not available uncovered)For all round goodness - WCR Crossroads neck/ Darkburst bridge

Travis
I've got a pair of Duncan Ultimates in my Artist Korina. Killer pickups for the semi-solid design of the Artist.
thecajunboy
I've had the stockers, Seth Lovers, and VooDoo Gregwinds in mine. All good to my ears. The Seths are the ones that are gonna stay in it for the long haul though. They're better than the stockers, and they cost me half the price of the Voodoos. ceeb
I put Harmonic Design Z-90s in my 25th anni. about 6-7 years ago. One of my better decisions. I think Dave E has the same setup. It's my best sounding guitar.
fruhike
I love the RIO BBQ/texas set that I installed - with a coil tap. I felt the same as you about the JB/59 combo. The 59 wasn't bad, but the JB was a little shrill. I had a tap in those as well.
