Stokesdead Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Hey guys I need to try something else in the Neck position of my Special it is 1980 vintage and therefore a lot of neck pickups are to deep to install. Im sure most of you know what I mean. I am also looking for the pickup height adjustment screws and the pickup ring mounting screws. I want them to be more like the ones on current production Hamers. Those Black ones with the smaller profile head. Those are great. And possibly a period correct case. It currently has a nice case it just isn't a "Hamer" case so it really isn't something that is a need just curious what I would be looking to spend for an original case in decent shape. Thanks, Chris Stokes
cmatthes Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 An original red-lined case could set you back a few hundred dollars easily. They seem to be pretty highly in demand when they do turn up. You could get a newer, black-lined case for a lot cheaper if you just wanted a Hamer case.
bubs_42 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 You can use a short legged Baseplate off a similar pickup. I put a PG Duncan in my Sunburst. I cut the leg's shorter and bent them and drilled and taped the new holes. Not that hard...
