Acoustic guitar roll call

I ask because I can finally participate in a thread like this!

After test-driving hundreds of nice acoustics over several years, searching for a LONG time, I finally made my "lifetime acoustic" purchase this afternoon...

Breedlove USA Pro Series D25/SRH. The SRH I'd assume stands for sitka Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides and Herringbone binding. It was a new model at Winter NAMM and there aren't a lot of photos of it out there (and like a dummy I leave the digital camera at work).

But I did find a snap of one via some Google. The photo doesn't show off subtle multi-ply binding on the ebony board or the abalone work around the soundhole, and it sure as hell doesn't capture the playability or tone of this thing. It is a fucking monster.

I know some of you fellas have some pretty nice acoustics. Care to share?

Guild D-50 and D-55.

Solid red spruce top and scalloped bracing, solid rosewood back and sides. Everyone asks me about the acoustics on my studio recordings. When they hear them in person, jaws hit the floor. Killer guitars.

Does a classical count?

I tried a LOT of them out while travelling around the country for a few years and ended up with a Simon Ambridge Spruce/Brazilian that is unbelievably unbelievable.

Stupidest money on a classical goes to the '77 Hauser II, but I sold it for an obscene price that I simply couldn't refuse.

Cheap-ass Yamaha. I probably paid $120 for it in 1983. I've had the action lowered so it's a nice playing guitar now. If I decide to buy a nice high-quality job, I really like the Breedloves like the top pic in this thread. May get an Ovation one of these days too.

I have a cheapassed early 80s Yamaha FG-335 that actually sounds and plays really nicely now, some 25 years on.

My main squeeze is this one, although I also have a J-200 that is really nice.

Not really an acoustic player. I had a cheapo that I sold last summer. Yard sale special for $75. I have an Ovation 1778T that I love. Just need to get the action a little lower next string change. I tried an LX but the 1778 slayed it.

What nice instruments! I want to get a 000 Martin but for now I have a Johnson Summit dreadnaught. Johnson normally builds beginner plywood things but they made 500 of these several years back for some reason. Solid stika spruce top, solid mahogany sides and back, abalone rosette, nice inlays, gold Grovers. Records well and feels good.
