vikingrat 0
I want to see some standards. I work at a music store and was informed that even though we carry Fender/Kaman we can't get a deal on one. I am not rich but i have wanted one of these since i was a kid. What is the build quality on the new Hamers compared to the days of old? Should i save and buy one new or troll ebay? tomteriffic 2,849
On Standards, there probably isn't a lot of difference between Illinois and Connecticut production (excepting the 4-digit ones, which are another animal entirely) The Standard has historically been Hamer's flagship and that model, even in the mass production days in Illinois, always got a little more attention I think. Apples to apples, though, I think Hamer's current build quality overall is the best it has ever been. That said, here's mine. The Mahogany one is late Illinois, probably toward the end of the days there. The other two are Connceticut. They all rule. Get one however you can. Or three...

cmatthes 20,242
My latest - possibly, the greatest. Special Rocketeria "Envyburst" finish, chambered body, crowns, matching head and slick top. This one is the $#!+ I've had 3 4-digits and 3 later production Standards. Although I still have one of the 4-digits warming a case in my house, this one blows all of them away. They are definitely on their game these days.

Camstone 2,331
Here's a Standard that I ordered from the factory in 1979 and received in 1980, which is when these pics were taken. Unfortunately, I sold it in 1982. (So this is 28 year old porn). And here's the one that I own now. It's a killer. These are really great guitars.
BruceM 1,502
This one now rests in more capable hands than mine, but I enjoyed it while I owned it. And I get visitation rights! I've still got this one, and I'm still partial to silver sparkle.

Hackubus 257
Here's my Chambered Korina Goldtop that was inspired by Tomterrific's GT. This one's is a replica of Uncle Rick's SN #0004, this particular one is the Zandard #78 (out of 78/79/80) I think this one is a '95 or possibly a '99 but I can't really remember. She became a bit of a case queen after the Zandard & Korina GT purchases, but I've recently started gigging her again. Great little guitar. Now sports black & zebra pickups like it did from the factory.
serial 3,631
I've had 12-13 four digits and four newer ones-down to two four digits and one '97, but they're fantastic guitars-all of 'em! And some that got away...

lord nelson 11
Standardporn is almost my favourite porn. Here's my 04 standard on a stand and in action A big +1 on boomers as the ultimate inlays on standards. Boomers on Devnor's red standard would pretty much make the guitar of my moist dreams
