edgar_allan_poe Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Here is the situation and I hope some of you guys can help me out.My current job has me teaching 9th and 10th graders who are significantly below reading level. So far, they have been doing a fantastic job and I am loving it. The problem is that the district buggered up the order for certain essentials. Here is the situation.The class is called Read180 and it is an English class with a computer lab. The computers are loaded with a software that adapts itself to the level of the student. The software requires the student to read passages and words into a mic and records them. Those recordings are stored and I listen to them to check for fluency and pronunciation. It is a fantastic program.Unfortunately, the idiots who ordered my supplies ordered headphones without mics...UGH...now the kids can't use the program correctly. To make matters worse, I was told that there wouldn't be any money for the mics until Dec. Double ugh...What I ask of the HFC is this....If anyone has *any* of those cheap ass mics that computers come with, and they aren't using them...and can spare the $1-$1.50 that it would take to ship them to me. I...and my students...would greatly appreciate it.Buying 60 of these out of my own pocket is just not feasible for me, and these kids deserve better than this.I know the HFC will come though like it always has.Please PM me if you can help.

I will check and see if I can use some of the petty cash my school has to order these. In the $10-$15 range they would have been above what we can spend in petty cash, but this is well beneath that.I will keep you guys posted, and as usual, this place always goes well above and beyond what I expect. You guys are the best.

I found it in the yard well chewed by Leo the eating machine.Naturally, count me in for help if you decide to purchase stuff.
