Motorcycle Emptiness by The Manic Street Preachers - Just a killer riff/melody hook.

And of course Welcome to the joungle comes to mind. That riff blew me away when I first heard GnR on the radio.

I could go on and on and on... these just stand out a bit more than other songs. It is usually a matter of the riff giving me a super strong chemical reaction when I heard it or just really liking it. These riffs changed my brain waves when I heard them for the first time. I literally got goosebumps...

The one and only Smoke On The Water came into my mind at first.

Great choice, one of the best riffs of all time.

Honeysuckle Blue by drivin n cryin. Saw them play it live before the album came out and immediately recognized it when I eventually heard the album. Very cool, memorable riff.

Drivin n Cryin. Now that was a good band that got lost in the shuffle.

Have A Drink On Me

For starters, anyways...

That's a good one. Always liked Rock and Roll ain't noise pollution as well...

This is probably my favorite

and a great effort from Brian Johnson covering a classic Bon Scott song.

Some fave Metal hook riffs from my youth:

The whole "Restless and Wild" album was great, but their big riff probably has to go

Great riff and

(and cool little bass solo lick,) with one of the more "what were we thinking?" Conan-esque videos of the early 80s.

Another old

but the video is from a few years ago. Amazing that Halford has any voice left in his late 50s.

"Miracle Man" was a great riff. Probably my favorite from that album is here.

King's X is always good for a hook riff, IMO.

example 1

example 5

(and a cool Ty Tabor solo tune,

)

Cool thread.
