Tuning in C on a 24.75" scale

zorrow

Question

Is it viable Tuning in C on a 24.75" scale? I know it takes extra heavy strings to keep a good tension (such as 12-60's), but I'm actually worried about intonation. Do you think it would intonate?

TIA!

PS: Intonation is for pussies, I know; so spare me that one, please. :(

You could add a Gibson "harmonica" bridge like those found on SGs and L5-s'. They provide a much larger range than a tune-o-matic.

when I setup Hank III's guitars,

A Tony Iommi sig SG

and a LPC,

He had 12/56 guage down to a C,

Both with TOM bridge and T/P.

intonation no problems, both EMG'd.

If you do, you may consider a pickup(s)

with a lighter magnetic field so the effect of string pull

is minimal.
