57 / 08 pickups

I have an option on a very nice PRS Mcarty ( thankfully devoid of birds ) for a very reasonable price; the guitar has great natural resonance and sustain, but I'm not a fan of the PRS treble and bass humbuckers, does any body know off hand the closest sounding replacement humbucker for a PRS 57 / 08, hopefully for under 250 $ a pair.

Thanks in advance Jaberwock

Highly recommend Duncan Seth Lovers.
Thanks I'll check them out; with some many boutique pick up manufactures around these days Seymour Duncan seems sometimes unfairly to have a reputation for being generic, and run of the mill.
Best pickups I own are WCR Godwoods. Close 2nd is the Wolfetone Marshallheads. Both are much better than SD 59s, in my opinion. The 59s bark at you in the upper-mids. WCR and Marshallheads are on the order of $300 new per pair, but "worth" it, if you ask me.

How do the sound split ? the single coil sound is pretty important to me; the 57/08's I tried had a very, useable, tapped tone; most tapped humbuckers I've tried sounded pretty weak, and anemic split.

I've never tapped them - don't know.
