Krank Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 A quick take soloing over 'Unknown Cravings' changes via an old version of Band-In-A-Box with general midi. Not exactly the best playing; it's merely to illustrate my current setup. burningyen Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Nice playing. The tone sounds cool, just depends on what you want. Right now it's on the border between papery and juicy. Somewhere around 1/3rd of the way through there's a noise that sounds almost like a radio losing signal/going into static, but it was probably just intermodulation from the cluster of notes you were playing.
gorch Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Nice creamy tone, sometimes little crunching. Very nice sustaining too. What's the guitar? I remember you were up to catch on a Newport last year.
Krank Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Thanks for the replies. The guitar is a Hamer Daytona I bought off another member here a couple of years ago. Neck position with a DiMarzio VV Heavy Blues II in there.
Krank Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 'Papery' and 'juicy'. Those are good terms, I think. I mostly have to make do with digital amplification due to issues with the neighbours. There's a pedal chain before (Amplitube JHE/Fender) consisting of a Barber Tone Press, a Rat clone plus an analog delay and custom overdrive from a Spanish pedal builder.
