I'm leaning heavily towards green!

If anyone knows how to transfer a voice mail from an iPhone, let me know-it sounds great!

Is that pickup an Aerosmith-style Bill Lawrence from the 70's?

-

Austin

Late 70's, early 80's Mt. Juliet made L560 lead. Basically a 500 in a P90 size.

The pickup placement is a little more away from the bridge to get more humph

out of it. It is perfect where it is at. The limba (Korina) back wood is

very light (and soft), making the tone snappy and articulate... tele ish.

Very nice. That LP looks great! Bunch of Pete fans would be jealous.

Love the Brian May Vox 10 watter in the background too. What a great lil amp AND makes a 4x12 sound real nice too!

A vintage SG spcl showed up. It is beat. really beat. A down and dirty facelift on it, that is it, that is all I have been instructed to do.

Fill and re route P90 cavities, shoot it flat, then alpine white, top coat, age it to match the rest of. It's do able.

Sonic Blitz developed a bubble up on the back under the original finish / wood when curing.

I have not experienced anything like that before, but when it comes to guitars, wood, chemicals, who knows.

So the area has been cleaned of the festering area and being leveled. Guitar will have to be re shot back side.

holy shit! I've had that bass for YEARS and never knew the finish could pop like that. And I find out....AFTER I've sold it!

damn. damn. damn. All I got left are solid color finishes, except for the Virtuoso. A good buffing will look nice, but won't have that night/day effect like on this iridescent finish.

btw I'm now convinced that magic buffing wheel when applied to fretboards has something to do with getting harmonics to pop out of your shredders Jay.

Shame about the Blitz.

Some things you have no control over and you just have to go back with a new perspective, approach.

Been doing this for quite a while now, I have learned patients is a key factor.

I am happy that the gas bubble happened here and not at a point in the refin that it can be resolved

without getting in to deep. Or worse, in the hands of the owner.

Some projects go thru without a hitch, and some get little hickups like this gas bubble situation.

When we buy a previously owned guitar, or parts put together guitar, etc., and down the road

We want this or that done to it, not truly knowing the history of, it can be a hit or miss.

who knows why it gassed at that just spot. A chemical reaction, spilled beverage that never got cleaned off

on that area, furniture polish with silicons... I am just glad that it happened when it did then down the road in time.

Buffing, yeah! the Chap really popped! I use Menzerna compounds, but for the deep stuff The Menzerna did not have

the compound that worked. Took me sometime to locate the just right compound that they use at the GCS that I was

so use too. A compound that is formulated just for GCS, but, the manufactor sold me a case of it :) I am a happy buffing guy.
