G Man Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Wow...amazingly detailed description and extensive pics. Cause you know, when trying to sell something for real money like that, there is no reason to spare any expenses.
Motorhead Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Asked a couple of questions.......no response?
gorch Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 It has the old unbound headstock. I like the light burst tops when the grain is nicely book matched as it seems to be with this.
custom53 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I emailed him for a close up of the front of the headstock... He is giving me the run around on it...1st response: "you want to see the very top ? where the tuning pegs are?"2nd response: "ok i know what you want now by the way what does the headstock tell you? does it tell you something about the guitar quality?"Really all I want to see is the USA but without telling him that.. Still no pic though... 3rd response: "ok i guess if someone wanted to spend 1,400.00 plus they have the right to know if its the real thing. i'll post it tonight, by the way 32 people have this guitar on watch i feel this guitar is going to sell with no problem"
kizanski Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Really all I want to see is the USA but without telling him that.. Still no pic though... The stamped serial number tells you it's a USA Hamer.
gorch Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Really all I want to see is the USA but without telling him that.. Still no pic though... The stamped serial number tells you it's a USA Hamer. The headstock shape confirms it evenly.
kizanski Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 That, and the "USA" stamped below the serial number, of course.
custom53 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Really all I want to see is the USA but without telling him that.. Still no pic though... The stamped serial number tells you it's a USA Hamer. It doesn't show the serial number either...

edgar_allan_poe Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 A 59 burst Standard is indeed rare...Hamer made *very* few 59 burst guitars.

kizanski Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 445168 "USA" If that's not it exactly, it's close enough for Jazz. Either way, there's no question it's a USA Standard. A 59 burst Standard is indeed rare...Hamer made *very* few 59 burst guitars. No, it's not rare, that's for sure, but the price is right, IMO.
