Guest pirateflynn Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I'm looking for an Artist Custom with HBs, Maple Top, No Gold and Ebony Board a plus.Anyone know of one? Thanks!Ken
Buster Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I know you've been itching for one of these...and, if I am not mistaken, Daves Guitars in La Crosse has a used one...1996 - natural in color for $1395. I bought my first Hamer from Daves...they are nice to deal with...As a side note, they also have a 2000 Artist Korina P-90 for $1095...don't know if you're interested in that one, but I know it's there...Erik
Guest pirateflynn Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Thanks Erik. That one at Dave's looks pretty nice. I just might go for it..........unless you change your mind!Just kidding!
Buster Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Man, you're going to work me until I cave Seriously...it's my #1...my go to...I just can't imagine ever parting ways with it...it actually has made me want more Hamers...and I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of my 1995 Studio...although it went to a good home (Mario, if you're reading, I'll take first dibs if you ever decide to let it go ) Daves has always been a fair place to deal with...in fact, they used to be one of the only non-Hamer dealers around that always seemed to have Hamers in stock...now that they're a Hamer dealer, their prices have gone up a bit, but they don't seem outrageous... Good luck...
belgian Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I have one for sale here in Belgium, the problem is that it's quite expensive for Americans over here: 1250 Euro HFC price + shipping

ctoddrun Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Is this the kind of Artist you're looking for? I just bought a PRS and need to sell it to pay for it...
Guest pirateflynn Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Is this the kind of Artist you're looking for? I just bought a PRS and need to sell it to pay for it... That's pretty close. What's the serial #? Original owner? Condition/ Flaws? Price? Thanks, Ken
ctoddrun Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 This is the only flaw on the guitar: A ding, half the size of a pea. I'm the original owner. A while back I took out the Seth's and put in PAF reissues (the unpotted Seths would feedback at high gain). During the pickup swap, I had the volume knobs reversed so that the front volume knob controls the bridge volume (and vice versa). Other than that, its completely stock and minty. No buckle rash or anything. I bought it new in 99, I think. I dont have the serial number, but I can check when I get home tonight. As far as how much? Thats a really good question. I have no clue as to what its worth. I paid 1600 for it back in the day, and I think I got a good deal, but then again, I could have been robbed. I guess I need to consult my local guitar shop to find out what its worth, or maybe check completed auction prices at Ebay to see.
Guest pirateflynn Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 email me when you get in. Thanks.Ken

ctoddrun Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Hey, if Ken passes I might be interested. How's the weight? Is the neck thinnish? Thanks.GregI'd say the neck is "medium".Not as thin as those old shred guitars, but not nearly as fat as the '62 roundback neck on a Tom Anderson. It weighs between 7-8 pounds. Cant tell for sure because I used my bathroom scale to weigh it (dont laugh!!).I sent Ken a PM about the guitar, so if he decides against buying, I'll post in a new thread.See ya.I took some more pics today as well.Even the case is in perfect shape.
Guest pirateflynn Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Artist Custom received in great shape! Thank you Todd. Pics to follow soon in another thread.
ctoddrun Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Good to know it got there in one piece (I knew it would...).Thanks for taking a chance on a newbie. I know the paranoia that comes from sending someone a wad of cash on faith.Enjoy your new guitar!
Guest pirateflynn Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Where are those pics, man? Sorry for the delay............busy, busy, busy!I actually have a couple very nice Hamer's to show off! Next day or so...........
