If anyone has a guitar with no name pickups or something and wants some Duncan Design HB103's? Let me know, when I switch them out of my Guitar next week to the JB and HS-2, I would be glad to send them to someone that has a guitar that would make them a good home. They are based on the SH-6's with less gonads but definitely classic metal.

That have a good metal sound imo.

Tell you what Greg = I got an Ibanez RG I'm currently stripping & doing up. I need 2 x humbuckers. I'll take 'em off your hands if that's OK & in return, I'll send you 2 CDs (our re-released first & 3rd albums) due out next week!

I got advanced copies right here right now. See more here: http://concretesox.org/ & click the link at the top.

Be aware that I'm not ruling out selling the RG in the future once I got it modded up so if you don't wanna, I completely understand. I mean, if there's a more worthwhile cause, I have absolutely no bones about you not wanting to let me have the pups.

Vic...

I miss the hell out of Europe being there for 3 years army and 2 years in a band.

That sounds like a good plan with the pups. I am not much of a guitar tech, more drums, and will never use them again. You on the other hand are a technician and will most definitely use them, so I will be happy for them to have a good home.

Here's a link to my new EP on iTunes, so you only have to listen to a few seconds of each song :) No Hamers though. One guitar (me) is my First Act Custom Shop though a Genz Benz Black Pearl. The other is Les Paul Standard Pro (the kind with P90s) into a Mesa Maverick. I think Jason used a Strat on one song. Bassist used a Mexican P bass into the board. Drums are a big fancy set of custom DWs. Voice is... me.

Oh, man. HFC is packed full of players... Can't wait to start digging into some of these links!

Most of these are 4-6 yrs old, but about the most recent I've got. (just moved, and FINALLY have an extra room to set up some music stuff and leave it up, so I'm excited about maybe getting to do a little playing again once my workload settles a bit.) Dorky noodles for your entertainment...

2-TEK Cruise and 90's (2nd gen) Phantom ("Phrasing be damned")

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=5163813

1981 Cruise and '83 Blitz ("Soupbone/Backtoyou")

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=5281561

2-TEK Cruise (and some guitar I cant remember, prob'ly the Phantom) "Doxology/nightlight"

Now, off to page 1 of the thread! :)

That's some great stuff. The mix is nice and clear which makes the cool bass with effects more prominent. I have listened to this in my car a few times. Grows on you. Nice groove, would be fun to jam with.

OK Greg, you asked for it.... Hamer Newport Pro, SD Seth Lovers pickups, Fender Super Champ XD amp.

This is a song I did with my daughter about 3 yrs ago when she was a senior in high school. Inspired after seeing BB King play. My wife was seriously pissed at the lyrics, thinking I had written about her!

This was a Saturday Night Special, where I sat down on a Saturday evening and put together something. (Your characterization of the HFC as semi-pro will be proven wrong with this one..) You have to be old enough to know what a jukebox was and to understand that a dime used to buy a song in one, making this an unmarketable idea from the start. Sara helped me out with the backup vocals.

Very nice tune to my ears. Many thanks for posting.

The thread turned out to be fantastic. There are so many great tunes that came to listen. I'm really surprised since I didn't expect the outcome as extensive as it became.

The first link is not working I found it http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7606086

Listening to the 2nd right now. Already like it 20 seconds in. I'll post more on it later. Nice melodic pub music. Even has a hint of one of my favorites in Neil Young. A lof of influences I am sure.

I will give both some good listens and report back

I am not surprised at the quality of the contributions considering the selective nature of the Hamer user. I would love to make a compilation CD from the these songs and hopefully a few more, with the particular Hamer guitar mentioned for each track. Someone could master the recordings if needed (i.e volume) another make a nice sleeve and introduction and post it online. I have everything so far on a jump drive to listen to in the car. A lot of this stuff really grows on you and is better than pop radio that's for sure. Make a compilation CD every couple of years.

Just a thought B) considering the quality so far.

Potentially embarrassing, but when has that stopped me before? I give you "Lost Pieces":

https://www.box.com/s/4np6knwsqq13hc1n8et6

The singer from my college band Original New Originals breezed through Chi-town last weekend so the four of us (me and the other two guys are local) got together at the bass player's place for a jam. We set up a couple mics aimed at the backline and recorded ourselves as we tore through some of the old classics. This is one of the few that we all remembered most of the music and lyrics. First time in over 22 years that any of us have played it, certainly together, so be kind!

Guitar is a PRS CE22 with a Rio BBQ Bucker. Amp is a Marshall Artist 3203 through a Mesa Thiele 1x12 w/ 200W EV. Effects are a Morley switchless wah, Bad Monkey overdrive and BBE Soul Vibe.
