PRICE DROP! $850 Cash, $875 PayPal

Ergo, I'm offering up my beloved '79 Sunburst. This one has been there and back, lots of character, dings and blips, but no breaks and a great player. Rio BBQ bucker in the bridge, original inside the Hamer HSC (don't know if the case is original, but it looks it).

HFC good buddy price: $850 + ship, CONUS only, PayPal OK, no trades.

NOTE! The neck joint wierdness is finish cracks ONLY. I've been assured of this by knowledgeable experts as well as the previous owner.

Secret magic mojo/vibe knob that goes to '11' not included unless you twist my arm just right. :o Those that I've dealt with here will tell you what a PITA I am to deal with..... :P

I HATE BEING POOR!!!!!

. . . . I guess I'll get back to my studying and tell myself that someday I'll have the cash for these kinds of things.

Tom, if I can sell my Special FM I want to buy this. I should know by mid-week. We'll see if this baby is still around then.

My Special FM was my first Hamer. I'm not sure if I could part with it.

For your sake, I hope it's still here, you'll need a worthy replacement.

For my sake, well, we'll see huh? :P

Ahhh.. I thought that one looked familiar.... I've held it in my hands via an excursion, with ER, from VA to MD, with the Geetar on route to PA.

At the time, the case was a Peavey, was it not Ed?

I've bought from Tom before and he's a great guy to do business with.

Buy with confidence. A very honest seller and a FAST shipper.

Man. If that 79 is anything like the 78 I just picked up, all I can say at this point in our relationship is "Make me a chikkin' sammich Beatch!"

Woo Hoo! Good wood is old wood (impartially speaking that is)!

Oh and uh...bumpididdly nebber. :)

Was yours one of the ones (the more reasonably priced one) on The Bay? I think I have its twin.

Shameless self-serving bump for the 'Tomorrow Is Payday' crowd. :D

Man, I always wanted a Sunburst ever since the first Guitar Player ads...

I haven't seen one in Australia for at least 20 years..

I'd be up for at least AU$1700-$1800 to get it here

Anyway, if I get lucky I'll let you know....Good luck, Tom

Peace to all

Okay. I'll translate the above. After playing my 78 for a couple weeks now, I am preparing to dump all my other guitars of the same flavor. Hamer's old fiddles are just that nice. Something about 37 year old wood (still hope for you Kiz) that just sings. Forget the cosmetics. This one is in nicer shape than mine and I don't even notice it. Maybe that's why my wife still looks the same to me as the day I married her 23 years ago. When it's really good, it's REALLY good.

Buy this. Now.

Hoy Tom,

Just wondering about the neck...is it wide/skinny like a '61 Gibbo ?

(I don't like 'em too clubby...I had a '61 SG/Les Paul that I lost...I like that feel)

The only Hamers I've really played are some I bought for resale

(a matching pair of black Vector's and a pink Scarab)

I played my friend's Prototype a fair bit, too

As long as they've got a bit of nut width I'm usually happy...the Prototype seemed wide enough

Cheers

That '61 Gibson analogy would be about right. Thicker than a '92 Special, but by no means a '58 baseball bat carve.

Of course, I've no idea how you guys in OZ play them once you get 'em. They're upside down and backwards to you aren't they?

Well, we hold the guitars the regular way....

but if we want any chance of airplay in the Northern Hemisphere

we have to learn to play our licks backwards...

otherwise they come out all funny on the US airwaves

We also have to plug our guitar cords into the amp BEFORE we

stick 'em in the guitar...if ya do it the wrong way 'round it can

cause yer pants to fall down

I can't believe this hasn't sold! I'd love to have a sunburst but I'm tapped out here. This is one that you can buy and not worry about dings, etc... NO BRAINER!
