ToneBone Headbone...

Radial Engineering Tonebone Headbone..What this unit does is you can run 2 amp heads into the same cabinet ie: you have a marshall head for your crunch and soloing and say a fender head for your cleans. You hook the two amps up to this unit and out of the headbone to your cabinet and you can swith between the 2 heads on the fly. I just paid $230.00 for it but in the time it took to get to me..I of course moved on to some other hairbrained idea!..hehe...Anyways..I've never even unwrapped it or plugged it in so..I'll eat a little and put it on your door for $200.00 :)

You didn't say if it's the one for 2 tube amps, 2 solid state amps, or one of each. It matters.

I started using a Headbone VT this week and it really works great. Rivera M100 head for clean and Naylor SC60 for gain (I need a BF bandmaster head.....). Awesome. I'd take my Naylor Electroverb 38 for the cleans, but it's a combo and bigger than the Rivera head though they probably weigh the freaking same....

Anyway, a great way to use two amps and not carry 2 combos or 2 speaker cabs and your sound guy only has to use one mic/channel.

The only option you don't get is both on at the same time and you can't put a delay in the loop.

Well..I got curious and set this thing up and ran my splawn head and one of my marshalls and then through my rack system and it works great!! You can run a delay through the effects loops of your amps with no adverse affect. Anyways...it's a cool gadget that really works if you want to go the 2 head route?

P.S....solid state amps are not allowed to cross the threshold of my doorway..hehe

DON'T DO THIS! The manual is very clear that the Headbone is not a load box. It only provides enough load on the amp that isn't being used for standby. If there are delay trails going through the amp after you switch to the other amp, it could have too much output and overload the Headbone. According to the manual, you could harm the amp and/or the Headbone.

Ooops...I stand corrected!!...you have to plug your guitar into your delay "before" the headbone and all will be well.....Your getting on my nerves DavidE...hehe...just kidding ya know I love ya!!
