Jem Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Has the demise of Hamer really filtered down to the general pleb on the streets that anything with 'Hamer' on the headstock is worth more than it's worth. I'd put something like this as £200 absolute tops and more like £100 as he can't even be arsed to even clean it ?!?!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hamer-XT-series-Sunburst-Flattop-Bass-/171142904996?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item27d8e97ca4
carfish7 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Well, the DO have crack in the UK, right?Just remember, it is not only rare, but VERY rare. That explains it. Or crack, one of the 2...........
cynic Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Does "the best sound is good" mean it will never sound better than good?
Jem Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 What a load of fucking shit. Now don't pull any punches Benner LoL !
tomteriffic Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Let's see. At the current rate of exchange, i could have bought three of these brand new back when. And, as it was, I bought two plus a bunch of accessories and a Happy Meal.. I'm pretty sure that the untimely demise of the brand didn't send the value of the XT's skyrocketing.Or, shorter version: let me up.
crunchee Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I'm guessing that Ebay UK is being run just like Ebay USA is...which is: post any old POS for an extortionate amount of money, as often as you like, for free. Because the seller doesn't pay anything unless said POS sells. And, if anybody is actually stupid enough to BUY said POS for said extortionate amount of money, then the seller winds up making a profit in spite of Ebay's fees...at least, in comparison with the "real world". It isn't just Hamer XTs, I see this on all sorts of items, and set or start prices vary wildly. I'm guessing the sales logic behind this, is that it's like a spider waiting for a fly to get snared in the web.
