....swap the toggle switch and tone control around?

With the Bigsby right there, the switch is hard to reach quickly. Since the tone control is used less (by me anyways), swapping them makes sense. Will the wires still reach, or am I looking at doing some soldering?

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

No way without soldering. Hamer used a metal roost to ground the pots and toggle. It also allows to install the pieces in one unit. Therefore, you would have to solder the swap on the roost. The rest is fiddling it all back in there.

and you will have to ream out the the volume pot hole a lil more to fit in the switch.

F**ker I just got it. And it's really cool. But that's one tweak it'll probably get.

I was born and raised with a Les Paul. The Les Paul has the toggle switch in exactly the right spot. Never liked the Strat switch, either. Even my first Hamer, with the switch behind the bridge, was very awkward at first, but I learned to live with it (so much so that that guitar was my #1 for quite a while). Even still, I find the behind-the-bridge placement far less user-friendly than that of a Les Paul.

Having it even farther away (as on the Newport) seems very odd to me. I'm pretty sure if it had a T.O.M, I'd still want to move it. It's just too damn far away.

Maybe move it to the upper bout.......there must be room.........hmmmmmmmm...........Earth to Murkat. Come in, Jay.
