Disturber Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 That Special K & Ectasy thread got me thinking I had seen that guitar before. So I dived deep down into the cyberspace known as my harddrive and found this one. VOILA! I knew I had seen a pic of this guitar before. Save date on the file is February 2005. Posted on this board. A photoshop pic of the "Ectasy". We'll I don't think whoever did this ever figured it would go into production Who played with photoshop to create this guitar? You should get a kickback on every sold item from Hamer as you actually was the first one to design it. I bet Wilcutt, or Hamer, got the idea from here. The Ectasy: The photoshop prototype:
Disturber Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 No, it was not Greg. (please don't start that one again. it's getting a bit tiersome. and Iwould really like to know whodid the pic).
BCR Greg Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I didn't do the photoshop, but several of you will remember me talking about mahogany single cut Juniors about the time that we did the BCR Juniors. Not that it matters. When Hamer told me how much they would cost, I dropped the idea.
serial Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I don't recall who did the photoshop, but that's an idea that has been kicking around here for years. Greg has tried several times since his two runs of mahogany double cuts came out to get a single cut Junior done and Hamer wasn't interested in doing the design. I was present at the shop when he was on the phone with the factory about trying to get these made.

Yes, I remember that there has beentalk about doing singlecut JR's long prior towhen this photoshoped pic was originalyposted. I'm just curious if it wasthe pic that made them changetheir minds, and decided to doa Korina version.
BCR Greg Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 What made the decision was that Willcutt's decided to do them in Korina, not Hamer deciding. I could have, if I wanted to do 10 of them. We talked at great length about it, but I felt that the price for what I was asking for(a mahogany Junior, Brazilian Board, Tonepros Studs and Pigtail tailpiece, Jason Lollar or Voodoo P-90) was way above realistic. Collectors are not my customer base, players are.The success of Hamer's new marketing plan is anyone's guess.

I think the "original"BCR JR's & Korina JR's are cooler. Always prefered double cuts myself.
JohnnyThunders Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Was it Mike_c who did the picture? How much are the asking for these?
Mike_C Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Much as I would like to take credit for the photoshop version it wasn't me. A single cut junior has been discussed by LOTS of people. I'm glad they finally got made I wish I was in a position to get one but unfortunately I'm not. There are very cool. At least I'm glad that I have a double cut Korina junior. Takes a bit of the gas edge off.Too Bad we can't all agree it's a cool pair of guitars and move on with other things.
