Jason01
Are there any gibby scale shredders out there with the wide thin necks? 22 frets hardtails and humbuckers would be ideal.

murkat
not much out there Jason.most shorty scale, Jackson Fusion, early chaps, etc. are floyd'd.Jackson did a run, pre fender, with a SLS, short scale, with a wilky type sustain block string thru bridge, ( I have one )with humbuckers. Very rare, and do not come up for sale often.the Jackson USA fusions are about the most shreddy shorty's you can get, Like what I have listed. All with floyds thou. analogsystem
22 fret, hardtail, not wide / thin neck? How about a gibson SG?Hamer studios play like butter too. Also, my chaparral is 24.75" with a neck on the small side of medium, but not wide and flat. More rounded.
velorush
Weren't the Peavey Vandenbergs short-scale? ETA: no hard-tail that I'm aware of, however. I'm with AnalogSystem: I'd go with an SG - incredible upper fret access, hard tail, lots of different neck shape choices over the years.

atquinn
Seems like you should be looking at an early-90's Studio Custom (or whatever the hell they were call them back then) so me. I had one from 91 (IIRC) and the neck was shredderific.-Austin
hamerjunkie
I miss my Kramer Nightswan. Bought one of the newer Buddy Blaze K2 imports with a 24 5/8" scale...not the same.
tbonesullivan
Earlier set neck Carvin's from the 80s were 24.75 scale. Now they are 25 scale with the neck throughs.

Jason01
I had an SG and absolutely hated the neck on it. It was like a tree trunk. I wanted to like that guitar so bad and just couldnt bond with it.
