Beefy pickup selector switch

seeker

Question

Posted

Heh all,

I keep having problems with just about every guitar that has a pup selector switch on the high side; as in LP and Explorer configs. After a while, they start not switching, especially to the bridge, without flipping it back and forth (and popping). Believe I am hitting them fast/hard sometimes so I can get back in time to pick. Includes GMP, McNaught, Heritage, and (import) Hamer guitars.

Question is: what is the "beefiest" selector out there that I could drop in to last (or at least longer)?

"some" guitar manufactors use what is known as the "studio switch" (junk)

it is a short stubby version of the switchcraft long toggle.

A true switchcraft switch is the best out there.

You still may be hard on them, but, switchcraft out last all others out there.

edit to add.

this is a studio switch. pitch it.

Not sure what you are using, but i'm pretty rough on toggles, and unless the guitar already has a Switchcraft that is near-new, that's one of the first things i replace on any guitar i get. I've gone through a few still, but they feel a lot better to me and last a whole lot longer. If there is something better out there, i'd love to know about it...
