Michael_B Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I just stumbled across this documentary on Jim Marshall and his amplifiers. It was a good way to settle down at the end of the day. I found it to be a very interesting story that I am surprised I had never heard before.
Disturber Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 "What can you do with a soggy little 10" speaker? You can't do anything with it." LOL. Priceless.
bubs_42 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 10's have come a very long way since then, A VERY LONG WAY.
Michael_B Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 I was particularly surprised by the early relationship between Pete Townsend and Jim Marshall in developing the Marshall amps. Well, at least, the way Townsend tells it.
cmatthes Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 That's the way I've heard it for decades as well.
Steve Haynie Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Pete must have felt just awful playing Hiwatts for a while.
LordOfTheThighs Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Lots of good info in the vid.I knew bits and pieces, but the vid sews it all together.
