Winter sucks

The relentless snow, wind and sub zero temps have really messed with time in the shop. The cases arrived this past week right after another snow storm with temps hovering around -5 degrees. That was a joy to unload and move.

There were a couple of questions about color differences.

This one has a Tobbaco/Dark burst.

This one has a Shishkov Jazz burst. It is kind of hard to tell in the picture but it is lighter and more subtle than the traditional Jazz burst/ TSB.

This is Vintage Natural

A 59 burst and a couple of other very cool colors are in the next few to be sprayed.

Whoa! Love how the closeups don't spoil the reveal of the first completed pieces.

Am I correct in understanding that Jazzburst= less amber/yellow in the center than TSB?

I won't be posting any full pics of your completed Ultimates until after you guys open your case . Don't want to spoil the moment for anyone.

the Shishkov Jazzburst has a more subtle / narrower burst around the edge and has a burst on the back and neck.

You have permission to post pics of mine.

Seeing it here first will charge me up for sure!

I really like the vintage natural.

I like that the binding appears to look slightly amber and not a bright white.

It contrasts with the top Real Nice.

yes, I agree... IMHO some of the natural hamers I've seen (90's, 00's etc) were too clear and it seemed

to wash out the figure of the top... this shade looks good.

Yeah exactly ^^^^^^

The tint in the clear coat gives it a pre-aged look while bringing out the grain.

MAN! Still can not come up with the best way to tell you how Cool those all look. The cases too.

Thank you for getting inspired enough to forge ahead building some great guitars Mike. Are you doing every aspect of the build including finishing? B)

Great stuff. Those cases are sick too.

I really dig the tobacco/darkburst and the Shishkov Jazzburst.

Such a cool idea to keep the full reveals up to the lucky owners.

Going to be a great bunch of posts to look forward to. In the meantime everyone, please bone up on your photography skills ;)

I've been wondering how you were faring with storm after storm after storm after storm. Hang on, spring will come... eventually. Love to see the progress! And I think I glimpsed my case!

Dude!!! It's amazing that one guy is building these the whole way through, complete with spraying and wiring!

If I ever get to have a Shishkov, I'm ordering it in Shishkov JazzBurst! That's crazy cool!

ETA: F*ck winter. Unless my neighbor comes back with his plow, I'll be shoveling my way to the road so I can leave at 6AM for a work trip. And another 5" to 8" called for Saturday! I thought I moved to the South!!!! ;)
