tbonesullivan 2,471
Blueburst is always tough to nail, as most light has some degree of yellow or red in it depending on the type it is. Under many incandescent lights blueburst can look kinda green. If it is the 3600K fluorescents, it looks purple. Either way, it looks incredible. Now we just need to find a bunch of sustain blocks for sunbursts.

0054 2,758
Blueburst is awesome... lighting makes it look what i call true Television blue (you rarely see it printed correctly, but it is awesome), which in some lights changes to a purpleish blue, which in person and online always looks great. It is a beauty to see!
cmatthes 20,271
Totally agree. I'll do my best to take some good outdoor shots if the weather permits this coming weekend. That should be getting close to the time some other new Shishkovs start hitting their owner's doors too..

Hamerica 1,524
Tried to get a good shot of the inlays-they are stunning-unfortunately, this pic isn't great. Ahem...I want to see the full frontal nudity of this guitar. I think it has a little more to reveal. Besides why only "two" pics when you could have "three"? Hamerica No real reason, I just haven't spent the time to get a full shot yet because I've been PLAYING this one nonstop. I shot the headstock pic because someone asked about the truss rod cover and while I was shooting it, I tried to get a shot of the stunning inlays, but the iPhone pics were subpar and I couldn't capture the quilt well. Just my 'Two' cents... I'll take some better pics and post when I get the chance!

coolfeel 1,401
Anyone have any thoughts on the overall tone and playability?
cmatthes 20,271
I'm still experimenting with mine. The neck is...well, PERFECT (for me). It's nice and full feeling without being chunky, clunky or slow. The board feels a little wider than my 2008 Standard, but that could be due to the profile - I actually prefer it. Fast, slick and not a dead spot anywhere. Really a joy to play. Just to note, I did ask Mike to make a bigger neck profile than usual. As far as the tone, again, I'm still playing around with different amps and settings, but it has a nice "bark" and "chime" on the bridge pickup - nice sparkle, a full, but slightly nasally tone in-between, and a really nice creamy neck pickup tone. I actually like it with the volume and tone pots backed off a tick or two and a little more push from the amp. I've still got many hours of playing around, but am really having fun with it. I will say that the chambering definitely contributes something to the overall tone. It's a little more midrangey than a few other similar solidbodies, but has a bit of a smoother, more compressed thing going on - tough to explain, but I am really liking it. I've honestly been having so much fun playing it that I'm not really taking notes or anything!

DBraz 4,110
nice sparkle, a full, but slightly nasally tone in-betweenWow. I have always liked guitars that can generate that slightly nasally tone. I can get it with my Phantom A5 Custom with the tone backed off a bit and it makes the guitar such a joy. You must be over the moon Chris as it sounds like there is some great integration going on between the woods and pickups.
