ZR Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 My Ebay auctions - 4 amps, pickups etc. I really wasn't sure what I could get for these (or what would be fair) so I'm letting the marketplace decide. Plus, our business (of 18years) has had 2 straight declining years in sales and we're feeling the money crunch. : (
jettster Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 That Blue Velvet looks really cool. Good luck with your auctions and I hope business picks back up for you.I need to do the same thing. There is a ton of stuff I need to throw up on ebay.
ZR Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 Yeah, it actually stresses me out to have so much gear around. After all this I'll be down to the Zinky Mofo and a Tech 21 Trademark 60. The Blue Velvet is cool. It would actually be exactly what I'm looking for in an amp (features etc. ) but I just like the Zinky Mofo better. It just has that certain something, to me anyway.I've already recieved some offers for different guitars /gear for trade for the Valvetech but I'll probably hold out for the money. It's what I need the most right now.I would entertain a possible trade for a Californian w/ boomers but that would be about all I would be interested in.According to ebay I have a lot of watchers on these so I expect more of bidding war late in the game, but who knows? Maybe someone will pick 'em up for fairly cheap.
ZR Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 Valvetech ebay buyer backed out after winning! : (I actually thought it might sell for more anyway so I have it back up one more time. Same as last time; a lot of watchers already. Same $695 starting price. Still have a Madison 2x12 and a cheap speaker for sale. The Zinky Blue Velvet didn't sell so that will be relisted after I get some better pics for it. The light beige colored grill cloth and the black tolex is throwing my digi cam off!I guess more and more ppl are on ebay because I'm getting more and more crappy questions (like they don't even read the auction first!) and flaky ppl too. I usualy go overboard on my descriptions in ebay ads to help elimintae a bunch of questions later and they still ask the same old s&it!! Are you guys finding a "dumbing down" on ebay?
kselbee Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Do you still have the Zinky? Email me at kselbee@neo.rr.com.
BLuesBuster Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 That Valvetech looks like the best deal on eBay in a very long time. I have a similar one in head format and I feel it's the best amp im my stable. Among Fenders, Boogies, Marshalls, Peaveys & Line6, the Valvetech reigns supreme. serenitynow Valvetech
neastguy Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 IMO... I'd sell the trademark and keep the zinky any day.....
ZR Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 I am keeping the best Zinky I have, to me anyway, the MOFO limited Edition head. The BV is so close to it in sound that it would just be redundant. The T60 gives me more of a Fender clean and a stereotypical Marshall sound in a lightweight package. the Zinky gives me the Zinky sound. I just don't need 2 amps that have nearly the same Zinky sound. The T60 is actually around mainly for my beginning guitar students. I hate burning up good tubes for lessons!
ZR Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 The Valvetech sold the first time then the buyer backed out due to Christmas presents for others instead of himself...sure pick now to become all warm and fuzzy on me! ; )Anyway, the Valvetch closes in a couple hours and the starting price is only $695. for a PTP custom amp in purple tolex, upgraded footswitch, beautiful sound and construction etc. The 2005 Zinky Blue Velvet 50 (5881's instead of the standard el-84's) in black tolex is up there too. It has a few days to go yet. Starting at only $799 (lists for over $1,500!).The Fender Prosonic head will be up again as well because the damn guy (I mean auction winner) from Turkey flaked out on me!
ZR Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Neatsguy,You have the Zinky BLue Velvet el-84 version right...you need to buy it's big brother (5881's) to keep it company!
ZR Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 One last time on the bay for the Valvetech...hopefully. Starting at a low of only $550.!!! Someone's gonna score big for cheap with this Valvetech. I'm hoping it will sell for about a hundred more or so but we'll see. This is stupid cheap for an amp this well made and this good sounding! Any offers from you guys would be considered unless I have a bid on it already. I like to honor my auctions once there's a bidder.
jettster Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Not like I need another amp or anything but, what's the scoop on the Blue Velvet? Sounds, channels, ect?
