Michael_B
I had the opportunity to play a '79 Sunburst and was absolutely floored. Can anyone guide me to a current model of pick-up that closely approximates those... DiMarzio's?

bubs_42
I purchased a pair and put them in a 78 Sunburst. They lasted 3hrs before I pulled them.
flattop
They were Dimarzio Pafs wound a bit hotter, 8.4 k the ones i measured both neck and bridge.Pretty sure the current Dimarzio Paf will be close.

They were modeled after Larry's personal LP Pickups, they are NOT what the early Hamer/Dimarzio Paf's sounded like.
pirateflynn
I'd contact Josh Gravelin, who is building the pickups for the Shishkov Ultimates. I have a pair in the Aztec Gold Special and I find them to be quite similar to the originals when played back to back with my '79 Sunburst. Best of luck with it![email protected]
