Steve Haynie
It is going to be hard to turn those Tele style controls around on the first one. murkat can do it, though.
BadgerDave
These are long gone, but thanks for the comments. Ben did the clear lacquer on one of them - we're trying to determine which one.
scottcald
Man, that 2nd one is like Chuck Norris told a tree to make a guitar and that's what came out.

mc2
Those are some beautiful Koa Teles!! is the second one spalted or was it painted in two colors? I've got a Koa one made by Phil Kubicki in '83. Top of lower bout is contoured like a Strat, like your's. Most confy Tele I've ever player. I think Phil came up with that Tele/Strat morphed body style. Reverse headstock on a crazy figured neck. http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpssd8vm39y.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=11 http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpsoz4pw9ua.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=5 http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpskdg642ro.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=6 http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpsbdkf3ovd.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=3 http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpsraxaohf7.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=
BadgerDave
The multicolored body is natural, no dyes or paint, just a coat of clear over the wood. I believe it was described as spalted loa, but I'm not 100% sure.
