In general, I love imperfections in wood, gives it character, but sometimes it just doesn't work.  in addition to the knot that just kept getting bigger, I wasn't happy with the how the flame started too look as I carved it, some very large sections started to look very flat.   If I'm not happy with it, it doesn't leave the shop.   

I couldn't believe it when the second one literally cracked in half.  

Third times a charm.

Good lord, that is so far beyond incredible!   THAT is the perfect

finish for that maple.

^^ I'll re-phrase to appease your interpretation.

I am starting to get a really clear impression of how this will look when completed.

Its the best looking super strat body I have ever seen on the most beautiful piece of flamed maple and is an utter masterpiece in my eyes.
