When I see waves, it seems great sound is already in there. It's kind of a shame the fingerboard is going to cover it up.

It's cool...   No covering needed. It'll be rear routed for the 5 truss rods in my 30 string Djentopus(tm) model. ;)

That is some SPECTACULAR wood!

Good to see an old familiar face in the shop too - I understand he's back in RI again?

There are at least six necks building a staple in the pic. Would be interesting to see what's in the brew there.

Took a little down time when Jackass stopped by the shop recently, was fun catching up. Love this guy,  miss working with him.

How common is the route under the fretboard vs from the back for the truss rod? Any pluses or minuses there?

Routing from the rear is only necessary on true one piece necks.

As with anything relating to how the guitar is built, you will find camps that love one, hate the other, and many will have "science" to prove why they're right.

Fill the rout with granite and you would really have something. Or so I hear.......

After working on pointy guitars for so long, it's kind of fun working on something a bit curvy.

woodworker geak alert: so, I decided to try out a new style of blade for my band saw, and man, it cuts these body blanks like they were butter - sometimes it's the small things that just kind of make your day.
