Anyone know what year they stated ink stamping month/date/year on the Gibson parts at the old Kalamazoo factory?
By ink stamps, I am referring NOT to headstock SN#s but, rather, to the ink stamps on raw necks and body parts. It looks like they used a standard old style ink pad and date stamper with the rubber rotating month, year and day, like they still sell at Staples.
I have some as early as 1961 and have seen some dated as late as the early 80s....unused parts leftover when Gibson moved from Kalamazoo.
Does anyone inow how early they began the practice of ink stampng the dates?
