I just noticed a set of strings labeled "Optimized for Dropped D." Beyond the obvious- the face value- what does it mean for strings to "optimized for dropped D"? Is it anything more than marketing nonsense?
Bottom strings are larger so they have more tension. So instead of the 6th string being 46 or so they can be 50 - 52. I really like the set I picked up from Ernie Ball. I think they are called Fat Bottoms.
