Thundersteel Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 They've got more knobs and switches than most Mesa-Boogies!

All those knobs & toggles. If there ever was such a thing it looks like a 12 string from Mesa. Just a little diamond plate and its a masterpiece from our friends in Petaluma. I wish they'd go back to the tough as nails vinyl or tolex or covering they used to use. It exudes what Mesa is. Cheers! caddie
Studio Custom Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Does anyone know what all those controls do?
Steve Haynie Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Each string set had its own EQ section. They may have had separate outputs, too.

I'm willing to wager there isn't much there which improves the sound vs. a good old volume & tone knob. It's like my old Rich Bich: coil cuts, preamps, vari-a-tone, phase switch. Every setting brighter and more obnoxious than the last.

Unless the circuitry is active, almost all such things serve as treble cuts.

I just know that the sound just kept getting brighter and brighter. Eventually all of the glass in the house was broken and I had to sell the guitar. The solid maple body and neck couldn't have helped.

kizanski Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Would love to see a wiring diagram of one of those things.
