Jeff R
For your viewing pleasure - "gwayne" Gary's Hamer Chap Standard's refret at the very end of a refret -- the last of 13 grades of hand fret polishing. I'll soon post some stills with all the masking tape removed soon - the video isn't as sharp as stills but you can get an idea of how sheeny and robust the new frets are! Next step will be mating the neck with her body, which is currently in Stike's booth getting shot a sexy seafoam green.
Jeff R
Tape removed. First two shots are pre-fingerboard oil, then three after oiling.

tbonesullivan
Nice! What kind of oil do you put on the fretboards? There's a lot of different products and formulations I've seen out there.
Jeff R
Dunlop's OTC lemon oil is just fine, as is Gerlitz's "Guitar Honey" and D'Addario/Planet Wave's "Hydrate." I think those last two are actually the same stuff, very similar at least. And a DIY tip ... to remove built up gunk prior to conditioning, if the crud is thick and/or packed on like a paste, scrape it off with a credit card or drivers license while it's still dry.
