louhamer Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Do all Hamer Newports use Rickenbacker pickup selector switches?

You mean because they have the long switch tip that is otherwise a pain to find? I don't think that Rickenbacker has much to do with it, other than they might use the same 'long' version of the Switchcraft switch/switchtip. BCR Greg used to have a stash of the long switch tips for sale a few years back, but those are probably long gone.
louhamer Posted June 24, 2018 Author Posted June 24, 2018 Thanks,. I'll look for the proper switchcraft.
cynic Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 The reason you know of the Ric switch is because searching for the comparable Switchcraft part is a waste of time. Buy the Ric 08834 switch and be done with it.
texwest Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 If you are looking for the long switch tip it is here. I recently bought one to make a Hamer look original. http://www.pickofthericks.com/rickenbacker-pickup-selector-switch-tip-toggle-bat-03568/ I've had my Newport apart and it uses the standard right angle switchcraft switch, but its impossible to find one with the long switch tip. That Rickenbacker site has the right angle switch with the long switch tip also.
tbonesullivan Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I got a few from pick of the ricks, as I needed one for my newport, and the switch on my studio may be breaking due to wear on the actual pivot.
