Steve Haynie
Here is a story on Ticketbastard turning a blind eye toward professional scalpers. One division knows what is going on. The other division says they do not encourage scalping.
cynic
With their "Official Platinum Seats", Ticketmaster has clearly acknowledged that scalping exists and added to their business plan a program to exploit the (legitimate) consumer fear that bots are buying all the best tickets. Artists are complicit as well by agreeing to participate in M&G/VIP packages that reserve huge blocks of the better seats for people willing to pay a premium for a quick photo op or a keychain. The whole system is shady as fuck.
FrettyMcgee
Ticketmaster can scrub my ballsack. Fortunately for me, all the artists I remotely still want to see in concert are never represented by Ticketmaster. That's one plus side for being completely irrelevant to current pop culture. DaveL
Have always thought it was shady. I’m thinking it’s some kind of warped strategy to tie up the sweet seats so that it squeezes the general public into buying the real crappy seats which would otherwise be tough to sell. Whatever the hell theyre doing it reeks of payola. Entertainment industry not exactly bastions of virtue so not a surprise.
tbonesullivan
This is what happens when you have a near monopoly on ticket sales.
