Forty Years of Playing Hamers

Recommended Posts

Wow, it just dawned on me that I have been playing and performing with Hamer guitars for forty years. Got my first Hamer in '78 when I was twenty and still rocking in '18 now that I'm sixty. Let's see if I can make it fifty.......?

Wow! That's a lot. Congratulations!

But, the times take it's toll. Your guitar got holes now. B)

Congrats on being a loyal Fan of the brand.

In no way to take away from you. I was lucky enough to have brought my first Hamer home in December 1982. It's still here too.

I thought the edible assholes were pretty cool, but yeah, this is cool.

How many things in the first picture would you like to have back?

Yes, that's a VERY cool milestone.  Congratulations.

On the other end of the spectrum, I've been abusing and defiling my Chapparral -  on and off - since I bought it new in 1989.

I don't perform or play professionally, so I can only say I've been privately wanking the Floyd on my '89 Cali since I bought it new in early '90... Are we hijacking someone else's thread?

For me, it is 30th Anniversary of playing Hamer. I got my 1st Hamer (Steve Stevens I in candy apple red with rosewood board and dots) in 1988. I don't know the exact date, but it must have been between June and October. I still have it and it is still all original. Though this one is not my main guitar anymore, as I like to use my other (almost identical looking) Steve Stevens more. That one is a 1985 model that I bought in 1996 and was my 3rd Hamer guitar. The pic is from 1990.
