Dutchman
Tired of the Norm? I just got back from watching the Shen Yun dance/orchestra show. Probly not everybody’s cup of tea but worth it just to see the Grace and Beauty and listen to an incredible small orchestra. So if your bored!!! It’s worth it!! ZR
I'm not telling anyone what to do but it would be fair to mention that it's not just some dance troupe but part of a religious / political movement that you may or may not support. That's up to you. Plenty of stuff on the internet machine about it if you're interested.

There where portrayals of dark figures torturing a young woman... the Violin and Viola solo’s during that where so emotional it was as they where crying in pain. I went to see talented artist’s perform. And was thoroughly entertained. I guess that’s the trend these day’s with entertainment... some how the spirit of the Artist’s Craft is shanghaied by some political bullshit!! cmatthes
I am SO G'damned sick of seeing the ads everywhere...online, on TV, on billboards, on Metro, in every newsprint publication in DC, in my mailbox... No way they sell enough tickets to cover the advertising.

They are related to the Falun Gong movement, which is a spiritual practice pursued by the totalitarian government of China. While that’s political in nature, I tend to think we Westerners would support their cause, so I guess it’s OK paying to see their shows —in which they do mention their political vocation but, at the same time, do remain totally oriented to culture and folklore. BTW, I saw one of the Shen Yun shows here in Montreal and it was really good —a bit long for my tastes though.
