DeVai
So why does the Sunburst command so much more money ?
Dutchman
The Sunburst was the Hamer model gigged and owned by many great guitar players back in the day. Seeing these great players using a Sunburst is probly why they still command a greater price than the later Special.
hamerhead
Binding is expensive.
crunchee
I'm not a huge fan of when binding is used for purely cosmetic purposes...plus, binding can give headaches when it comes to fixing it, if it ever separates or worse, ask any vintage Gretsch collector! Though I DO like my double-bound P-90 MJT/Musikraft Tele/Cabronita; but then again I bought it second-hand and a previous owner paid for the build and the bells & whistles on it.
