Forgive me for even asking, but what’s a reasonable asking price for a USA Studio in good condition?

I know it’s blasphemy, but I’m kinda sorta toying with the idea of possibly letting one of my Hamers go...

It's pretty much all we do around here.

I’m almost certainly *not* going to sell it.  Natch. :)

But if I were to, what do y’all think I could reasonably get for it?

While a picture might be worth a thousand words, your pic begs a hundred questions.

1. Condition? Other than the face of the body.

2. Age? I can guess, but it would be easier if you told us.

3. Frets? Condition. Refret?

4. Any damage? Pics of the front and back of headstock would be helpful.

5. Electronics? Are the pickups and harness original?

6. OHSC?

7. Neck. size, shape and condition?

8. Hameritis? It looks like it comes from that period.

9. Harmonic voice? :)

All of that and more that I can't see from your picture.

Those are excellent questions!

to answer the age question, I need to know how to decode the serial number.

Frets are in good condition, as is (I think) the body.  Can always take some pix and get y’all’s estimation.

Bridge pickup has been swapped for a Duncan Distortion, but I still have the original JB and would include.

No damage other than normal wear & tear; no refretting.

A little Hameritis around the neck joint.  Again, could photograph as needed.

Origina hard case would be included.

Harmonic voice?  I don’t know how to answer that one ... warm and thick but with good bite from the bridge position?

Oh, and the neck is a tad bigger/rounder than the one on my Mirage, but not baseball bat territory by any means.

Oops! Screwed that up.

Should have said Acoustic voice. And Harmonic qualities.

Sorry.

But honestly, it’s not really likely I’d put it up for sale.  Every time I play it again, even though it’s not my #1, I remember what a fine instrument it is.

Hamer serial numbering sequence by decade:

1970s:

7 0001 - 9 1450

1980s:

0 1451 - 9 24192

1990s:

0 24193 - 9 50155

2000s:

0 50156 - present

Looks like mine’s a ‘90s, same as my Mirage.

Thanks for the info!!!

Apparently the serial number of yours is between

0 24193 - 9 50155

These are the 24193rd up till the 50155th serialed USA Hamers.

So then look at the first digit, it will tell you from what year it is:

If it is a zero, it is from 1990

If it is a one, it is from 1991

etc.......

If it is a nine it is from 1999.

Depends on what people are willing to pay. Used prices are all over the place. I paid $750 for my first Studio, but that was probably 8 years ago now.  My Studio custom I paid $1500 for. Indigo is the great color ever used on any hamer.
