mtn cub
Hello, As the title says, I'm looking for a case to fit a 2002 Newport Pro guitar. The body shape and dimensions make finding a nice snug, proper fitting case a bit of a challenge. That being said, I would appreciate a heads-ups if anyone might know of one. Or, if anyone can suggest a quality, after market case that would fit the Newport, that would be great. Thanks, Tim.
mtn cub
I see that some in Seattle, where I am, has got a 13" lower bout case for sale..... I need one with a 14"lower bout measurement for a Newport..... Anyone? Thanks, Tim.
Tortious
Will a Gibson 339 case fit? https://davesguitar.com/products/gibson/cs-336-or-es-339-case/ Found some dimensions here, don't know if they're accurate: https://forum.gibson.com/topic/11670-es-339336356-body-measurements/
currypowder
I had one and it fit pretty snuggly in an Epi 339 case. The strap button on the upper bout rubbed against the side pretty tightly. I found it to be an acceptable case.
mtn cub
Thanks for your input.... It sounds like you might have sold the Newport.... If not, could you take a photo of the guitar in the case and send it to me? I live on an island and don't have easy access to a music shop. Thanks, Tim. Boomerang~Junkie
I think I might have one. Im 99% sure its a factory Newport case, let me double check the model humber. According to my emails, I bought this case from Peter back in late 2016. It is near mint and should fit: Newports, Monacos and Talladegas.
mtn cub
Hey thanks. It looks to be in excellent shape. 14” lower bout? Can you give me some of the other measurements? If you could double check which guitars it was designed for, that would be great. Did you use it for a Newport or? Thanks for any information and for reaching out. Tim. cmatthes
I believe that IS a Newport/Monaco case.
Boomerang~Junkie
It is a factory Newport/Monaco/Talladega case. I was crazy lucky that Peter had one in his stash but I didn't end up using it. Near mint, with no issues or funky smells from a non-smoking home. Peter keeps his toys in great shape. Hard as all-heck to find period - but harder yet in this shape. I have $245 in it - and that's what it will cost to get it to your door in the CONUS.

Here are a couple of pics of it in the case.
mtn cub
Thanks for the replies and photos. Boomerang, that's a real nice case but a bit more than I was hoping to spend...... currypowder, that looks like a very snug, but acceptable fit. any weird pressure points outside of the top horn at the strap button? it looks like you had some kind of strap lock on there, correct? it looks like the contours are fairly similar. Thanks again.

Not just a really nice case, but the right case. The price is excellent considering they aren’t made anymore, and this one’s pretty much new. mtn cub
gtrdaddy, I am aware of this. All things considered, it's still a bit of nice amount of cash..... You never know, maybe down the road I'll have some extra $$$$..... At least I know Boomerang has one, for now..... Thanks again, to everyone, for all the input..... No weird pressure point outside of the strap button, which is a Dunlop style locking button. It worked fine for me.

No worries - most of these odd-duck guitar things get a bit pricey to have!
mtn cub
Boomerang~Junkie, Just to be 100% sure, does the case measure 14" at the lower bout and 10 1/4" +/- at the upper bout? It was built specifically for a Newport Pro, correct? Out of curiosity, is Peter gtrdaddy? I've been a member here for quite a while, had a few Hamers and finally found one with a 1 11/16" nut width and a nice full profile to fit my big hands.... All of the previous Hamers I've had came with 1 5/8" nut widths (Studio, Studio Custom and a Mirage ll) and the necks were just a bit small for my comfort zone. I now have a "keeper"...... Tim. Boomerang~Junkie
No, but we all wish we were ! ! It's HamStandard - the Hugh Hefner of all Hamer Harems (minus the wrinkles and creepy PJ's). This is the correct factory Newport case. Im not where the case is right now, so I can't measure it for a couple of weeks.

Hbom
I'll sell this one. Guaranteed to fit a Newport Pro. $1000.00 +shipping Case candy included.
Boomerang~Junkie
Unless you are ruling mine out on price, if you can wait until 07-08, I can give you exact measurements - so you can be sure its the right case. I bought mine for another custom guitar and never used it at all. I've been down the exact road you're on - I even called TKL and asked them directly before finding one here from HamStd. TKL did not make that many of these cases as it's a special model designed to fit only those three Hamer guitars. The actual TKL case model number is: GC4-0. It took me well over a year to find this one. The one I have is as close to "new" as you'll find. Not necessarily rare, but getting damn hard to find because there's usually a Monaco, Talladega or Newport already living in it.

Does case candy include that lovely orange placeholder there? I'm not an orange fan, but the TSO Newports are still my favorite.
mtn cub
Boomerang, No rush, let me know when you get home..... Hbom, Is the $1000 correct or do you have a sticky "0" key? I find it hard to believe that a case is worth the price of a nice guitar.... How much without the case candy? Tim.
