PSA: FM Special @ GC, $700

Recommended Posts

Either way, a mid 90’s special FM is worth way more than the asking price. That being said, I bought and sold my ‘95 special FM (with an insane flame top) for the mid $500’s back in the day. Which was a Wednesday, btw...

still an insane player and sounded phenomenal. One of the few I regret selling.

Another fantastic glamour shot by the GC photography specialists.

I love the lack of details in their Details section as well.

Someone got a good deal and if it was less than 25 years old a 45 day try out period. Really, GC used is a decent way to pick up used gear with little to no risk. Maybe the lack of info and good pics can be a good thing. Cuts down on the competition from other buyers.

Once again not in Excellent shape like the store claimed. I was passing through NY and decided to take a look. Much like the Monaco SuperPro story this guitar was not in condition claimed. After these two incidences I will never purchase something from GC. I passed. If they dropped the price from $799 to $699 it was probably worth it but buyer beware when it comes to GC and their ratings system. This guitar was in better shape than the Monaco but still not Excellent condition. I'd say Very Good at best. Bad pick rash and lots of dents on the back

As with any chain, it's very store dependent.  I've purchased a half dozen used guitars online from various GC stores and they've all shown up in as good or better than described condition.

Are you talking about the one I posted about (which was somewhere in CA), or the one that's currently at the Brooklyn GC? At least with GC if it doesn't arrive as described you can return it to your local GC.
