JimiH
This kid bought VR’s MX Hamer. Vernon says there was a black and white version also, wonder were that went?
Studio Custom
Actually I thought there was only the black and white one, no idea on where it is. Try Peter's house.
Jeff R
Neon Pink turned a stale orange over time. Must have used the same pink pigment found in the Dimarzio bobbins on original floral print Jems?
Jeff R
These pics shows what I'm talkling about, faded vs. unfaded Dimarzio bobbin pigment pink, on the same guitar. Ibanez apparently used a different pink pigment on the knobs. Look at the magazine cover photo in the original shadow case photo. Back when the MX guitar was pink. HAMERMAN
What a shame - I always loved that neon pink. Did he add a sustainer at some point? Weird how the writing is completely gone - it looks a bit strange with it missing. Definitely a cool axe, I hope the guy didn't buy it to keep it in that display case. Jeff R
Added a Roland synth pickup, look between the bridge and the 'bucker. I think the writing was a Sharpie that VR added impromptu ... and likely removed when it started wearing/sweating off haha. The neon purple on my old VR has faded to orange over time too, for what it's worth.

JimiH
Wow Amazing how it fades, I would be tempted to refin it back to its glory days with the writing 🤔 especially if it’s now a display piece only.

Good call - you would think I would have noticed that since some of my guitars have hex pickups! :-)
Studio Custom
The fading out with these colors was very common on the Barney Rubble SS's, they did not like UV light or the sun.
stonge
Ron's Guitars in Groton, CT had a pink SS hanging in the front window that bleached out really quick - they sent that one back to be refinned according to Ron.
