Crwth145
Looks like Frank's been holding up pretty well all of these years & that I'll be purchasing a new DVD soon... https://mahoganyrush.net/dvd/
bigolsparky
Frank Marino was my second concert. He opened for Nazareth, but I actually went for Frank. I was listening to him when I was 15 or 16.
mrjamiam
Six hours? My goodness. I hope that was a three-night stand. I never noticed before that it looks like an HSS setup on his SG.

I was fortunate enough as a young man to have my sister introduce me to Frank backstage at a show in the old Veterans Memorial Coliseum in PHX, AZ, back in about 1980-81. After a brief yet subdued chuckle, the dude was totally cool to this bug-eyed, tongue-tied, fan boy who soon after couldn't help blurting out questions about his gear. That was the day I first learned about the LPB (linear power booster) as Frank explained how he used them to get his 'sound' from the Ampeg amps he was using at the time. Fun stuff! It's SSS, with the bridge pickup reverse-slanted. You can catch a glimpse at 3:11 in "The Answer" video above. Total Hendrix setup, routed into an SG. spanky
I bought a Gibson SG 2007 guitar of the month, week 10, because I always wanted an SG with single coils. All due to being inspired by Frank Marino's mods. I still play my Mahogany Rush albums on occasion.
The Shark
One of the best live albums ever. A few songs recorded in Orlando...
