JLester Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 What would I need and hard is it to add coil splitting capability to a Monaco Elite that is otherwise completely stock?
Dutchman Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I don’t know how good the pups would sound split but a push pull tone pot and some rewiring if the pups are 4 wire will get you there. are you splitting just the bridge?
JGravelin Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Yes, they must be 4 conductor output leads; will split nicely and I'd use two 500k push/pull pots, specifically the brass-shaft Allparts and Mojotone offerings to do this. Non-evasive, will retro-fit...perfect choice for a classy guitar! I know Duncan has a diagram on their website and it's easy to do with the most basic of soldering skills. Any reputable guitar shop can do the work if you're not comfortable. I think you'd get an appreciable "bang for your buck" either way .. I say go for it!
JLester Posted November 13, 2019 Author Posted November 13, 2019 Thanks, I'm going to tackle it. I've been learning some songs that are stereotypical single coil sounds and trying to get closer to that.
