northarrow
Is there a way to tell from the serial number the original color ?
kizanski
I'm guessing black.
Studio Custom
Maybe Hamer did the refinish and re-stamped the serial number.

It’s an old enough serial number that is quite possible, I’m going w SC’s answer!
cmatthes
Actually, it does appear to be a refin - there’s a “box” around the serial that wasn’t visible when I was looking on my phone screen. The serial looks like it was masked off.
tbonesullivan
I would also guess black. Check the control cavity, as usually they often mask that off.

The ones that haven't faded into oblivion, that is.
