That other model called a Special...

Wow. Nice axe.  The 0 on headstock means 60 reissue special.   My local store has a batch of stuff from the custom shop. (Mahog) but they all rock.  The 57/58/59 specials and juniors have fuller necks but pretty sure the 60 has a decent sized neck. At least compared to the earlier 90’s hamers.    Dig the nylon nuts that are usually well cut.     Rock it

What is the model, year, etc.?  I have been think about a double cut with single or double P90s.

It's a 2005 VOS model.  The neck carve is, being a '60, is a bit thinner than a '59 and a good bit thinner than a '58.  It's only 8.4 pounds.  The guy had the wrong weight on the ad on Reverb.  I asked him to weigh it and the great weight is what sold me.  And the killer mahogany/finish.  It does look like some of their Flying V's!

Wait one minute there...we've been assured for years around here that anyone asking for weight will not buy a guitar.  Surely you're mistaken.

I have one heavy guitar.  They are usually about 12 pounds (no shit).  This one is 10 pounds even, so you could say that I bought a "light" one...

I get the love-hate p90 thing totally...I currently have a p90 in my Newport bridge and it is perfect.. but only because I can switch to the sweet middle or throaty neck when needed. I LOVE a bridge p90, but can tire of it if that is the only tone.....but none more better for rock and roll!

What pickups do you have in the Newport?

@Disturber I had AC at Rumpelstiltskin Pickups wind an HB sized P90 for the bridge and a alnico Rod single for the neck...also HB sized. I like the Casino vibe. Models are called the Archer neck and Chameleon bridge.

The Rumpeltrons are now back in my Artist.

OP, I apologize for the hijack..,your new Special looks beautiful.

No worries.  That's what threads are for!  Unless it's a "for sale" thread....
