Following his arguments to a logical end, all stories and lyrics have been written because there are only so many combinations of words. I don't know about all the legal parts, but if all this is in public domain, then all songwriters will make less money or perhaps no money? Wouldn't artists only be able to make money from their specific recording of the song since it's already been created? Would no one should be able to copyright a movie, book, play etc?
